Citrus Heights provides sandbags to residents at several locations during storm events.

Each of the sandbag sites will have pre-filled sandbags available for pick up, as needed by residents, at no charge. Although no limit has been established for sandbags per residence, the city encourages residents to limit the quantity of bags to the amount they can safely transport in their vehicles. The filled sandbags weigh approximately 30 lbs. each. More than ten bags is too much weight for most cars; more than 20 bags is generally the limit a half-ton pickup truck can safely transport.
